Prime Minister John Briceño says Garifuna Settlement Day theme fitting as we recover from the ravages of the pandemic

By BBN Staff: On the occasion of Garifuna Settlement Day, Prime Minister John Briceño has called on Belizeans to embrace this year’s theme “I for you… you for me” as a Belizean lifestyle.

“But I dare say the theme is fitting for Belize and Belize’s development. Reflecting on those words, it is easy to see how forward moving our nation and our development would be with that theme as a mantra. “So as we feel the pulsating of drums… hum to the harmony and sway to the cultural consciousness the music awakens, let’s commit to the significance of the theme for each and every day… for our nation’s moving forward from the ravages of the pandemic and economic hardships facing us,” Briceño said.

PM Briceño went on to express his thanks for a reflective and significantly meaningful theme and wished all of Belize a Happy Garifuna Settlement Day.
