By Rubén Morales Iglesias: The Ministry of Health and Wellness continues its COVID-19 vaccination drive in Toledo next week through the Toledo District Health Services.
Vaccinations are being administered at the Punta Gorda Community Hospital and at the San Antonio Polyclinic from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
The Ministry of Health and Wellness continues encouraging Belizeans 12 years and up to get vaccinated against COVID-19 at any of its vaccination sites countrywide.
Additionally, the MOHW advises they are also administering boosters for everyone 18 years and older.
The Toledo District Health Services says it’s applying the two doses of AstraZeneca at 8-week intervals, Pfizer-BioNTech at 21-day intervals, and Sinopahrm at 25-day intervals. Janssen is a single dose.
Boosters are also available as well. For AstraZeneca, Pfizer-BioNTech, and Simopharm the booster is administered five months after the second dose, and for Janssen, two months after the first dose. Those who have been vaccinated with AstraZeneca, Janssen, and Sinopahrm can opt for a booster of the same vaccine or for a Pfizer. Those vaccinated with Pfizer, get a Pfizer booster.
