By BBN Staff: A Dangriga man is being held by police after he allegedly set a house on fire Saturday afternoon.
Authorities responded to a call regarding a house fire in the Benguche area, Dangriga Town, around 12:30 p.m. to find an upper flat of a wooden house destroyed by fire.
Investigations revealed that the upper flat contained two bedrooms, a kitchen, a living room with appliances beds, clothes, and other items, which were valued at a total of $19,900.
Eyewitnesses say they saw a man enter the premises and then leave shortly after. Moments later smoke was seen coming from the house. He was identified and later apprehended by police, pending charges of Arson.
