By Aaron Humes: The National Meteorological Service says that once again, a cold front is approaching Belize – weaker, but still expected to produce rain and cool temperatures.
Skies today will be sunny with cloudy spells, becoming mostly cloudy by tonight. Showers will be isolated at first before picking up over the north this afternoon, with periods of rain and isolated thunderstorms. Activity will then spread to the south, coast and offshore tonight.
High temperatures are 85 degrees Fahrenheit along the coast, 89 degrees inland and 73 degrees in the hills. Tonight, it will be 71 degrees Fahrenheit along the coast, 69 degrees inland and 62 degrees in the highest elevations.
Winds are from the north to northwest at 5 to 10 knots and sea state is slight to light chop.
Tides are low as of 6:11 this morning and will be again at 5:13 this evening; high tides occur at 12:17 this afternoon and 11:14 tonight.
The sun sets at a quarter past six tonight and rises at 2 minutes past six Tuesday morning.
The extended forecast calls for variably cloudy skies with a few showers or periods of light rain over Southern coastal and offshore areas, decreasing and little or no rainfall elsewhere on Tuesday.
