By Aaron Humes: The four days of the Garifuna Settlement Day weekend as well as today, Monday, continue the trend of further lowering of the active case count of COVID-19.

181 new cases were reported over 4 days, an average of 45 per day, while 495 persons recovered in the same time period.

The net loss of 314 cases reduces the active case count to 1,309 with 89 samples under investigation.

30 persons remain hospitalized with COVID-19 and 14 of these are in intensive care.

Six new deaths have been reported countrywide, lifting the cumulative toll to 564.

Overall, 27,773 patients have recovered from among 29,682 total cases since the pandemic began last March.

We’ll have more from the latest COVID-19 data figures by the Ministry of Health and Wellness in subsequent stories.
