By Aaron Humes: Following this evening’s reported fatal accident along the George Price Highway and what they say is an “increase” in the number of accidents recently, the Police Department has issued a reminder of the do’s and don’ts of the road.
Commander Operations, Assistant Commissioner of Police Alford Grinage, in his statement said he “implores ALL motorists and cyclists that are traversing the highways and byways to drive and ride with due care and attention.”
This includes driving within the required speed limits whilst in cities, on the highways, and in villages (ranging from 25 to 55 miles per hour), wearing seat belts at all times regardless of the distance, and having children properly seated in the back seat.
Also, ACP Grinage reminded, don’t drink and drive and don’t text or use cellular phones whilst driving.
All of the above are criminal offenses and will be prosecuted.
