By Rubén Morales Iglesias: COVID-19 vaccination is on in Punta Gorda and San Antonio this week in Toledo, according to the Toledo District Health Services.
Vaccinations are being administered at the Punta Gorda Community Hospital from Monday to Friday starting at 8:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m.
Vaccinations are also being held at the San Antonio Isabel Palma Polyclinic from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
The Ministry of Health and Wellness continues encouraging Belizeans 12 years and up to get vaccinated against COVID-19 at any of its vaccination sites countrywide.
Additionally, the MOHW advises they are also administering boosters for everyone 18 years and older.
The Toledo District Health Services says it’s applying the two doses of AstraZeneca at 8-week intervals, Pfizer-BioNTech at 21-day intervals, and Sinopahrm at 25-day intervals. Janssen is a single dose.
Boosters are also available as well. For AstraZeneca, Pfizer-BioNTech, and Simopharm the booster is administered five months after the second dose, and for Janssen, two months after the first dose. Those who have been vaccinated with AstraZeneca, Janssen, and Sinopahrm can opt for a booster of the same vaccine or for a Pfizer. Those vaccinated with Pfizer, get a Pfizer booster.
