Commissioner of Police in Istanbul at Interpol General Assembly

By Aaron Humes: This morning Commissioner of Police Chester Williams is in the Middle East, specifically Istanbul, Turkey.

He is representing Belize at the 89th General Assembly of the International Criminal Police Organization, known as Interpol.

In a social media post, Williams exhibited a photo of himself in the meeting hall with the Belize flag next to him.

The Commissioner writes, “It is always an honor and a privilege to be sitting behind our national flag representing our lovely jewel abroad.”

He adds that he is looking forward in between meetings to seeing more of the historic city of Istanbul.

Interpol maintains an office in Belize and has helped publicize wanted fugitives both here and abroad.
