Cabinet has instructed Jose Mai’s Ministry of Agriculture, Food Security, and Enterprise to study the rising cost of living.

Belize imports many critical products and foodstuffs including fuel but does produce basic staples including fruit and vegetables. However, recently even prices for these have gone up.

Cabinet has instructed the Minister to introduce, at the forthcoming sitting of the House of Representatives, legislation establishing and ensuring legal mechanisms in place against those accused of price gouging.
