Police confirm find of charred drug plane today – report no cargo recovered

By BBN Staff: The Belize Police Department has issued an official statement on a drug plane that landed in southern Belize this morning.

Police say that officers responded to a report of a low-flying plane in the Kanantik area around 1:51 a.m. and headed out to the Kanantik Air Strip.

There, officers found the charred remains of a single-engine aircraft at the end of the runway.

“Police conducted searches in the surrounding area, however, nothing illegal was found,” the Department said.

The matter is currently under investigation.
