Posted: Saturday, November 27, 2021. 4:05 pm CST.

By Aaron Humes: Police say a young man from Valley Community, Stann Creek District, made what proved a fatal decision to return home on his motorcycle after a night of socializing.

The body of Keon Richie, 23, was found on the right side of the Hummingbird Highway traveling north at Mile 22, along with a heavily damaged Meilun motorcycle just after midnight this morning.

Initial investigation revealed that on Friday night, November 26, at about 11:15 p.m., Richie was socializing at Mile 23 on the Hummingbird Highway, and at about 11:25 p.m., he decided to return home.

Police say that whilst returning home on his cycle and before reaching the Middlesex Bridge he allegedly lost control of his cycle and crashed into the left rail guard, which resulted in his fatal injuries.

Police are investigating.
