Police recover 20 parcels of marijuana after car chase; culprits escape

By BBN Staff: Police have recovered a bag containing 20 parcels of marijuana following a car chase in the Dominguez Layout area of Corozal.

Reports are that around 8:10 p.m. on Friday, officers on mobile patrol noticed two suspicious vehicles in the area. Upon their approach, the vehicles sped off and the high-speed chase ensued.

During the ordeal, someone from one of the vehicles threw a large black plastic bag from the vehicle. Both vehicles managed to elude the officers who later returned to the area where the bag was thrown and recovered it. Inside were the 20 parcels of marijuana, which weighed approximately 9.25 kilos.

Since no one was apprehended the findings were labeled and deposited as found property.
