Two held for store robbery on Ambergris

By Aaron Humes: Police say they have recovered money and liquor believed stolen from the premises of Super Buy Express in San Mateo, San Pedro Town, Ambergris Caye and detained two persons in connection with the robbery.

According to the store’s cashier, she was closing the store at five minutes to eight Friday night when two men entered.

One was armed with a firearm and the other with a knife. They demanded money and she surrendered the cash from the cash register as well as assorted liquor.

Police said they responded quickly and picked up two men. They recovered the suspected stolen cash and liquor during a search of the residence of one of the suspects.

Police actively continue their investigations at this time.
