Vaccinations in Belize surpass 209,000 with nearly 194,000 vaccinated

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: The number of persons vaccinated with at least one dose in Belize is now at 209,073 persons according to the Ministry of Health and Wellness (MOHW) COVID-19 Vaccination Report for Friday, November 26, 2021. Of that total, 193,934 have received two doses.

In total, 516 persons 18 and older were vaccinated since the previous report.

A total of 28,996 persons between 12 – 17 years of age had been vaccinated with Pfizer-BioNTech vaccines. Seventy-nine were vaccinated in this category since the previous report.

In all, 585 persons countrywide were vaccinated since the previous report.

The MOHW is vaccinating with AstraZeneca, Sinopharm, Pfizer, and Johnson & Johnson (Janssen) vaccines.

The MOHW said vaccinations are now available for everyone; 12 years and older. Persons who have been vaccinated for at least 8 weeks are asked to visit any Ministry of Health and Wellness health facility to get their second dose of the vaccine.

“We also advise that even after getting vaccinated, persons are to continue wearing a face mask properly in public, maintain consistent physical distancing, avoid social gatherings, and wash and sanitize hands often,” said the MOHW. “Please be safe and stay at home unless conducting essential business.”
