Suspected narco plane landing reported in Cayo; Police officer detained

By BBN Staff: Confirmed reports reaching our newsroom is that there was another suspected drug plane landing in Belize, this time in the Cayo district.

The plane landed in the Mountain Pine Ridge (MPR) area of Cayo, inside the MPR forest reserve, and was immediately destroyed by the drug operatives.

When authorities arrived on the scene, they found the burnt remains of the aircraft, however, the suspected cargo had already been moved.

Quick police response led to the detention of five people coming from the area, who were in possession of firearms and camping equipment. A police officer is reported to be among the detained.
