By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Belize, through Belize Parliamentary Alliance against Hunger and Malnutrition (BPAHM), is considering initiatives and programs that may be implemented in schools to fight hunger and malnutrition.
The Government of Belize Press Office said in a social media statement that Belize is one of 19 participating countries supporting a unified goal to end hunger and malnutrition. BPAHM is the organization through which Belize is looking at possible initiatives and programs that can be implemented in schools to achieve this goal.
On Friday, November 26, Jose Mai, Minister of Agriculture, Food Security and Enterprise; Valerie Woods, Speaker of the House of Representatives; and Rossana Briceno, Special Envoy for the Development of Families and Children, along with a delegation visited the Agro-Processing Unit of the Ministry of Agriculture at Central Farm, to see the work done there.
The Press Office said the purpose of the tour was to see how the practices and the Agro-Processing Unit can be incorporated into the initiatives and programs of BPAHM and the office of the Special Envoy.
