Speaker Valerie Woods heads to Taiwan; Deputy to preside over  upcoming House meeting

By Aaron Humes: The National Assembly has announced that Speaker of the House of Representatives Valerie Woods and Deputy Clerk Clarita Pech will represent Belize at the 2021 Taiwan Open Legislative Forum on December 2 and 3.

The Speaker will be delivering opening remarks at the forum and meeting Taiwanese President Tsai Ing-wen. She is a guest of the Taiwan Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Legislative Yuan and U.S. based National Democratic Institute.

Deputy Speaker Marconi Leal will be in the chair at Friday’s meeting of the House of Representatives.
