By Benjamin Flowers: The search for missing Cayo resident Leo Simpson came to a tragic end, as the body of a John Doe pulled from the river near the Iguana Creek bridge in Blackman Eddy was identified as his.
Simpson’s family confirmed that they identified his body after liaising earlier this week with police.
His decomposing body was found trapped in some bamboo in the river on the afternoon of Saturday, November 20.
He was found shirtless, wearing only pants and shoes. Simpson also had a broken neck.
Police have confirmed that foul play is not suspected in this incident.
