‘Free paper bun’ in January for students

Posted: Thursday, December 2, 2021. 10:08 am CST.

By Aaron Humes: In Cabinet this week, Minister of Education, Culture, Science & Technology Francis Fonseca informed his colleagues that plans are in place for the reopening of schools for some level of in-person learning in January 2022.

Some schools are already open for face-to-face learning, with only one, Caye Caulker Roman Catholic School, reporting an outbreak of COVID-19 cases, seven at last count.

In this connection, according to a Government release, all schools are required to apply for green light status from the ministry prior to the opening of schools in January.

Among other things schools are expected to have shift systems for students attending every other day or week as the case may be and still using some form of online learning. For those attending in-person, they will likely be required to wear facemasks, sanitize regularly, and maintain some form of social distance.
