By BBN Staff: Following her historic victory in the 2021 Miss Earth 2021 Pageant, Destiny Wagner is being welcomed home with a motorcade through the streets of Belize City on Saturday, December 4.
The motorcade kicks off at the Best Western Belize Biltmore Plaza and moves through the Phillip Goldson Highway, Buttonwood Bay Blvd, Seashore Drive (Blue Economy Park), Leave Seashore Drive, Buttonwood. Bay Blvd, Phillip Goldson Hwy, Central American Blvd, Cemetery Road, Orange Street, Albert Street (St. John Cathedral Church) Regent Street, Over the Swing Bridge, North Front Street, Fort Street (Light House) Marine Parade, Craig Street, Barrack Road, Freetown Road, Phillip Goldson Highway, and back at the Biltmore Plaza.
Wagner, the first Belizean to win a major international pageant since 1979, won the crown of Miss Earth 2021 on Saturday, November 20. Following her monumental accomplishment, the Government of Belize said “Hailing from Punta Gorda, Destiny is the first Belizean to win an international pageant of this magnitude, and it is with pleasure and pride that we salute her, and wish her every success as she moves on to represent the jewel on the world stage as Miss Earth 2021.”
The Miss Earth Pageant, which is geared towards highlighting environmental protection programs and aims to showcase and promote the various tourism destinations, had a total of 88 competitors from around the world. The pageant was held virtually this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
