By Aaron Humes: The Upper Chamber is meeting in Belmopan to discuss the bills and motions arising from Friday’s meeting of the House of Representatives.
Among the bills up for consideration is the second Supplementary Appropriation of $45 million including $3.15 million for augmented constituency development funds and allocations for critical health, infrastructure and other projects.
Bills to revamp the residential care system and end decades of mistreatment of problem children; a loan motion for what is effectively a refund of monies spent in repairs after last year’s flooding episode caused by Hurricanes Eta and Iota; and others have been brought from the House of Representatives.
We’ll have more from the capital as the day progresses.
