Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, Economic Development and Investment John Briceño today received a bilateral cooperation grant from David Kuan-Chou Chien, Ambassador of the Republic of China (Taiwan) for the year 2021 under the Bilateral Cooperation Program between the countries.

The Government of Belize will use the funds to cover a part of the expenditures on key infrastructure projects, including the upgrading of the Caracol Road and the construction of the new government office building in the Lake Independence Area of Belize City.

These are projects begun under the previous administration and inherited by this one. In both cases, the Government negotiated millions in savings to complete each project.
