Group initially charged for conspiracy to land a narco plane are additionally charged for importing drugs

By BBN Staff: Today, seven men who were initially charged over the landing of a drug plane in the Cayo district, have been additionally charged for the drugs related to that aircraft.

Police say that Jesus Martinez Quintero, Jaime Maaz, Miguel Zetina, Edwin Gonzalez, Eric Young, Edilberto Medrano, and Saulus Penner were arraigned this afternoon on a charge of abetment to the importation of controlled drugs.

The charge stems from the landing of a narco plane on the night of Saturday, November 27 in the Hidden Valley area of the Mountain Pine Ridge Reserve.

When they were initially charged with conspiracy the men were denied bail and remanded to the Belize Central Prison until February 22, 2022.
