By BBN Staff: Today, a police mobile patrol vehicle crashed into a church in the Toledo District and the Belize Police Department has launched an investigation into the matter.
Commissioner of Police Chester Williams provided an update this afternoon, explaining that the officers in the vehicle were headed to the Tree Tops outpost for a routine shift change.
Williams says that the officers turned a curve in Santa Cruz Village when the brakes hose burst and the driver was unable to stop.
In the vehicle at the time were Corporal Francisco Labriel along with Constables Derrick Bermudez and Dalton Marin.
Williams says the department has launched an investigation as to how the situation unfolded. The officers managed to escape the ordeal unharmed.
