By BBN Staff: A man was fined in the Belize City Magistrate’s Court this week after he pleaded guilty to charges of insulting and threatening words.
Thirty-two-year-old Marvin Ramirez wasted no time in entering his guilty plea for the offenses which were committed during a domestic dispute with the mother of his child
Ramirez was fined $50 plus a $5.00 cost of court fine for insulting words and $100 plus a $5.00 cost of court fine for threatening words. He has until February 28, 2022, to pay both fines or spend two weeks in jail for each offense in default.
His case is a stern reminder to Belizeans that insulting words is an offense and can carry legal consequences.
