Members of migrant caravans will not qualify for amnesty

By Aaron Humes: Earlier we provided a list of individuals who would benefit from the Immigration Department amnesty.

But there is a group that will not qualify: persons who are part of the migrant caravans crossing Guatemala, Honduras, and Mexico.

CEO Gilroy Middleton explained that they would not have time to qualify for amnesty under the strict rules announced.

And our neighbors will be informed of the details as part of the wider information campaign so that migrants are made aware they can’t run to Belize as an alternative to going to the United States.

It was noted that yet another caravan was on its way to Mexico and America.
