Over $200,000 in cattle exported to Mexico today

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: “Today 186 bovines were exported to Mexico generating more than BZ$200,000 for the economy,” said Belarmino Esquivel, Principal Agriculture Office and Livestock Director at the Ministry of Agriculture, Food Security, and Enterprise (MAFSE).

The 186 head of cattle weighed 107,319 pounds according to Esquivel.

The cattle were transported in two truckloads from Blue Creek in the Orange Walk District to Su Karne in Michoacan, Mexico.

To date, official cattle exports to Mexico account for a total of 2,104 bovines since September 2020 resulting in an estimated BZ$1,911,815.00 of revenue.
