By BBN Staff: A man from Belize City is spending the night in the Belize Central Prison after he was charged with handling stolen goods.
Thirty-one-year-old Calvin Palma appeared unrepresented in the Belize City Magistrate’s Court where he is accused of being in possession of a Honda brand outboard engine valued at $4,000, that was the property of one Terrence Flowers.
The Magistrate denied him bail and remanded him to prison until tomorrow when bail will be considered.
The boat engine was reported missing on November 25. Police reviewed surveillance footage from within the area which lead them to Palma. Palma, after being detained, took police to a house in the Belama area where the engine was being kept.
