By BBN Staff: A 57-year-old naturalized Belizean from Rhaburn Ridge Village, Mile 35 on the Philip Goldson Highway, is on remand at the Belize Central Prison after police found more than 600 marijuana plants growing in his yard.
Coronado Ramos Vasquez appeared unrepresented in the Belize City Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday, where he was charged with planting cannabis. Police say that when they searched his premises on December 6, they found a total of 638 marijuana plants.
In court, he was provided with an interpreter as he is not fluent in English. After his charges were read to him, he pleaded not guilty to the charge and was remanded to prison; however, the court will be making bail considerations for him today.
