Black Orchid Resort to launch first-ever Belize River Valley Wine Festival

By BBN Staff: The Black Orchid Resort (BOR) in Burrell Boom Village, Belize District, is bringing together lovers of local wine and producers of local wine from the Belize River Valley for its first-ever wine festival being held on December 19.

The event is set to run from 2:00 p.m. -5:30 p.m. and will feature live music by the Black Orchid Resort Jazz Ensemble. The festival will be an open-air event and with the requirement that all guests and operators be vaccinated, attendees can enjoy the festival without COVID-19 concerns.

The BOR is inviting six winemakers from the Belize River Valley for the occasion, and providing them with tables and wine glasses for their display and sampling, free of charge. Winemakers are urged to have stock of their wines on hand for sale during the festival.

“It will be an evening of wine tasting, networking, and live entertainment that will hopefully result in a market for your wine,” the BOR said.

The BOR said that the festival forms a part of its commitment to sustainable tourism in Belize and stressed that the Belize River Valley is famous for its variety of local wines.
