Belize Weather: Showers pick up to start the week

The National Meteorological Service forecasts sunny skies with cloudy spells today and mostly cloudy skies tonight. A few showers will affect mainly southern coastal areas this morning, moving north this afternoon then spreading to most areas tonight along with isolated thunderstorms.

High temperatures today are 85 degrees Fahrenheit along the coast, 89 degrees inland and 75 degrees in the hills. Tonight temperatures fall to 75 degrees Fahrenheit along the coast, 70 inland and 64 in the hills.

Winds are from the northeast at 5 to 15 knots and sea state is choppy.

Tides are currently high. The next low tide is at 12:07 this afternoon followed by a high tide at 6:20 this evening. The sun sets at 5:19 this evening and rises Tuesday morning at 6:14.

Tuesday will bring cloudy skies with some showers over most areas.
