Wagiya, Caesar Ridge draw 1-1 in FFB Top League

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Wagiya and Caesar Ridge played to a 1-1 draw in the final game of the second-to-last weekend in the FFB Top League on Sunday at the Isidoro Beaton Stadium in Belmopan.

Enfield Coleman Jr scored for Wagiya while Shawn Young struck the tying goal for Caesar Ridge in the 47th minute on an assist by Orlando Velasquez.

The match was an improvement for Caesar Ridge that had fallen 3-1 against Wagiya in the first round.

The point gained was the second for Caesar Ridge in this tournament. Wagiya for their part improved to six points.

Verdes, having claimed the title on Wednesday, lead with 27 points followed by Altitude with 17. The San Pedro Pirates are 3rd with 14 and Garden City 4th with 10. Wagiya and Caesar Ridge follow.

In the earlier game on Sunday, Verdes beat Garden City 3-1 on Sunday. Elroy Smith in the 26th minute from the penalty spot, Jordy Polanco in the 31st, and Mexican Edwin Villeda in the 78th minute scored for Verdes. Wilfredo Galvez converted Garden City’s only goal before the first half ended.

On Saturday, the San Pedro Pirates and Altitude drew 0-0 on Saturday.

The final three games of the championship will be played this coming weekend.
