By Aaron Humes: Channel 7 News reports that acting on the recommendation of the CEO in the Ministry of Home Affairs Kevin Arthurs, the Security Services Commission has ordered the suspension of Assistant Commissioner of Police Marco Vidal for 60 days.
This is allegedly based on evidence of administrative irregularities that was obtained during the investigation on Vidal.
The former Commander Operations led the Strike Team, several of whom have been arrested and charged with respect to the landing of a drug plane at Bladen, Toledo District, on the Southern Highway.
Importantly, he has not been directly accused of any personal involvement in that landing or any other.
It is not clear what happens next but we will keep following the story.
