By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Prime Minister John Briceño said Belize has been invited to participate in the upcoming LATAM Summit 2022 in the neighboring Mexican state of Quintana Roo.
“Mexico has been a strong regional bilateral partner to Belize over the years,” said the Prime Minister on social media after Mexican Ambassador Martha Zamarripa Rivas paid him a courtesy call on Wednesday accompanied by Sergio Leon, the President of Coparmex (Chamber of Commerce) Quintana Roo.
The Latin American Summit which will feature more than 100 entrepreneurs from the United States, Colombia, Panama, Belize, and Mexico will be held in Cancun from January 26 to 29, 2022. The Summit will seek to expand and diversify enterprises across the borders of Central America, South America, and the Caribbean.
“The idea is for Belizean business people and government officials to attend this expo that is being planned in Quintana Roo so that we’d be able to link Belizean business people with business people from Quintana Roo and with other Mexican investors so that we can be able to create partnerships. So that we can show them the products and services that we can offer and vice versa,” said the Prime Minister.
“I think it’s a wonderful opportunity for the business community, for Beltraide, and for government officials from the Ministry of Investment to take advantage of.”
This business summit in Mexico as Belize makes an aggressive move to attract international investors and on the heels of the Belize Investment Summit held in November and the official state visit by the Prime Minister to Mexico in September and October.
