Department of Transport tells bus operators to clear balances or suspension, non-renewal may follow

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Department of Transport (DOT) sent a notice to bus operators to clear balances or face suspension or non-renewal of their licenses.

The Department of Transport said to all bus operators that “the DOT is currently reviewing and updating all operators’ files and accounts”

“The department requests that all operators with a current outstanding balance for Road Service Permit (RSP) kindly visit the office to settle outstanding arrears or arrange a payment plan by January 15, 2022. Failure to do so can result in the suspension or non-renewal of the RSP,” said the notice.

The DOT said the review and update of all operators’ files and accounts are “part of the department’s mandate to transform the public transportation sector as recommended by the National Comprehensive Transportation Master Plan for Belize”.

At the same time, the Department of Transport thanked the bus operators who have updated their accounts.
