By Rubén Morales Iglesias: A hattrick from Jayda Brown gave Jewel Fury their fourth back-to-back National Amateur Women’s League Championship as they thrashed Rumberas 4-0 on Saturday at the Isidoro Beaton Stadium in Belmopan.
Fury were merciless against their most competitive rival who today came out flat-footed and never regained their composure after Gisel Baeza shocked them in the second minute play.
Brown, the tournament’s top scorer, then hit three times; in the 44th, 73rd, and 80th minutes.
Rumberas were closer when they lost 2-3 on aggregate in 2019. This tournament they had given Fury a good fight in the 2-1 loss in the first round.
Today, Jewel Fury were simply unstoppable.
