Weather: Rain lingers over much of country

By Aaron Humes: The National Meteorological Service forecasts cloudy spells today and tonight. There will be a few showers and isolated thunderstorms, starting mainly along the coast this morning, moving inland this afternoon, then over Southern coastal areas tonight.

High temperatures are 86 degrees Fahrenheit along the coast, 90 degrees inland and 75 degrees in the hills. Tonight, it will be 76 degrees along the coast, 70 degrees inland and 65 degrees in the hills.

Winds are from the east to southeast at 5 to 15 knots and sea state is light chop.

Tides will be high at 10:12 this morning and 9:11 tonight and low at 3:12 this afternoon. The sun sets this evening at 5:21 and rises on Sunday at 6:16.

The extended forecast through Sunday is for showers and isolated thunderstorms over most areas.
