By Aaron Humes: The Police Department has informed that Miguel Angel Cal Xo, 26-year-old Guatemalan national, and Edgar Cal, 22-year-old Belizean driver, both residents of Jalacte Village, Toledo District, were both arrested and charged for possession of a control drugs with the intention to supply to another.
As we reported earlier, the men were stopped on Sunday while initially trying to flee Police near Jalacte, Toledo District.
5.8 kilograms or 12.8 pounds of suspected cocaine in multiple parcels was found inside one of the men’s backpack.
The Belize Livestock Producers Association (BLPA) confirmed that the truck’s owner was registered with their association but was not moving cattle at the time of the incident and did not have a permit to transport cattle on the said date.
