One person held for late night shooting in Cayo

By Aaron Humes: Police have detained one person in the shooting of 25-year-old Deon Rochester of San Ignacio which took place Sunday night.

According to police, Rochester went to Esperanza village on a black scooter and while on an unnamed street he saw a man approach from bushes nearby and shoot at him several times.

Rochester was hit in the right upper shoulder and taken first to San Ignacio Town Community Hospital, then the Western Regional Hospital in Belmopan for further attention.

Police investigations continue.
