By Benjamin Flowers: The National Kriol Council (NKC) has publicly shared its grief at the loss of its former president Myrna Manzanarez, who died earlier today.
Following Manzanares’s passing this morning, the NKC posted on its Facebook page saying “We are deeply saddened by the loss of our Beloved Sista & friend. Myrna, you left a hole in our hearts we will never forget you! Our Kriol gyal, the woman that don’t play about her culture God called you home so we cannot question his work
Yhu hurt wi Myrna! Until the roll is called up yonder sista. Rest in Perfect Peace Myrna Manzanares.”
Manzanares had been hospitalized since December 15, battling an undetermined health issue when she died just before 2:00 a.m. Since her passing prominent Belizeans, lovers of culture, and people that knew her well, have been expressing their grief via social media and sharing the things that they will remember.
