Verdes’ Krisean Lopez named Most Valuable Player of 2021 FFB TOP League

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Verdes’ striker Krisean Lopez won the Golden Ball as the 2021 Football Federation of Belize (FFB) Top League’s Most Valuable Player.

Champions Verdes raked six individual awards out of ten given by the FFB. Seven if we consider that Lopez shared the Most Goals award with teammate Paraguayan Junior Vargas. Both scored seven goals.

Verdes’ Woodrow West was named Best Goalkeeper, Jordy Polanco was Best Midfielder, Spaniard David Pérez was Best Coach, and Lorin Frazer was voted Best Manager.

San Pedro’s Azrel Sutherland won the Best Defender award. Wilfredo Galvez of Garden City was named Best Young Player, while Shawn Young of Caesar Ridge was voted as Best Forward.

Subchampions Altitude won the Fair Play Trophy.

The Green Machine were dominant during the tournament raking nine wins and a draw for 28 points, eight more than Altitude.
