Teen remanded to prison for aggravated assault with a firearm

By BBN Staff: An 18-year-old resident of Mahogany Heights will be spending his Christmas behind bars after being remanded to the Belize Central Prison on a charge of aggravated assault.

Emmanuel Thompson appeared in the Belize City Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday, where he was read a single charge of aggravated assault with a firearm upon George Hyde.

Thompson pleaded not guilty, but due to the nature of the offense, he was remanded until February 17, 2022.
