By Rubén Morales Iglesias: “Dr. Melissa Diaz-Musa has been awarded a staycation package for two that includes a two-night stay at Grand Caribe (Belize beach resort) including breakfast and a sunset cruise courtesy of the Belize Tourism Board,” said the Belize Tourism Board on a social media post on Tuesday.
BTB said it is recognizing Dr Diaz-Musa, who is the Deputy Regional Manager for the Central Health Region, for her dedication.
“She has been instrumental in the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic in Belize,” said the BTB.
“In addition to her extensive work managing the Covid-19 health crisis, she also heads all public health facilities and health programs (environmental, vector, mental and dental) in the Belize district.”
BTB said Dr Diaz-Musa has served in the medical field for over 21 years, “largely in service to the government and by extension the public”.
The Ministry of Health and Wellness (MOHW) joined in the recognition.
“Congratulations to our Dr. Melissa Musa. The country is beyond grateful for your selfless contribution in health and especially during this pandemic,” said the MOHW.
