By BBN Staff: The National Meteorological Service forecasts variably cloudy and mild weather today, transitioning to clear to partly cloudy skies tonight with cool temperatures. Light isolated showers or rain is expected over the North and offshore early and mainly in the south tonight.
High temperatures are 82 degrees Fahrenheit along the coast, 86 degrees inland, and 76 degrees in the hills. Tonight temperatures fall to 69 degrees Fahrenheit along the coast, 60 degrees inland, and 59 degrees Fahrenheit I the hills.
Winds are from the north to northeast at 5 to 15 knots and seas are light chop.
Tides will be low at 7:54 this morning and 7:16 this evening and high at 2:09 this afternoon. The sun sets at 5:24 this evening and rises on Saturday at 6:19.
Christmas Day will be mostly merry and bright, with only isolated light showers into the night.
