Teen dies after family altercation

By Aaron Humes: A family is in mourning after a teenager died following a family fight in Hattieville, Belize District.

16 year old Keenan Young and his brother Alex Neal got into a fight on December 8, two weeks ago, when Neal punched Young in the left side of his face.

Since then, Keenan complained of headaches and abdominal pain according to his father Ian Young, who sent him to Belize Medical Associates in Belize City for treatment.

After being admitted on Christmas Eve morning, Young started to froth at the mouth and become motionless; he was pronounced dead just before 11 a.m.

There was a small swelling to the left cheek.

Police consider the death to have been caused by foul play and a post-mortem examination is scheduled. Their investigations continue.
