Opposition Leader invites Belizeans to share the spirit of the season

By Aaron Humes: “The old-fashioned Christmas,” championed in song by Brad Pattico and Sir Colville Young, is a call to share with others the good things of the Yuletide season: food, drink, love, and laughter, according to Opposition Leader Patrick Faber.

It drives his United Democratic Party to share their spoils with constituents this Christmas season, despite it being far less than their salad days of government, and it is built on the strange and intentional paradox commented on by G.K. Chesterton as quoted by Faber: “…that the birth of the homeless should be celebrated in every home.”

Of course, the child born that day in Bethlehem would grow to become, in Christian reverence, the Lamb of God who took away the sins of the world, and who grants us peace if we cling on to Him.

Faber closed by asking Belizeans who have to give all they can, in the light of love, to those who have not, and for us all to share a blessed and caring Christmas.
