Well-known gang figure survives shooting attack on Christmas Day

By BBN Staff: A well-known gang figure managed to avoid death on Christmas Day after being shot at while driving, police say.

Jervis “Diamond” Valencia was driving a red Saturn VUE with no identification plates around 8:30 p.m. on Lakeview Street heading toward Cemetery Road, where he encountered a man known to him.

At the intersection of Banak and Lakeview Streets, he saw the individual standing there who fired at the vehicle four times and then escaped into a yard opposite. Valencia was not injured.

Police investigations continue.
