Active cases climb after busy COVID Christmas

Posted: Tuesday, December 28, 2021. 5:54 pm CST.

By Aaron Humes: The hospitals were kept busy this holiday weekend not only by the usual violence but also by COVID cases.

Over a three-day period, from Saturday to Monday, 231 more persons were diagnosed with COVID-19 against 111 persons recognized as recovered from COVID-19.

This leaves the number of active cases at 573 with 130 samples under investigation.

Five deaths were also reported, but as will be explained none of these actually happened over Christmas; they were just reported then.

Overall, 31,734 total cases have been reported and 30,526 patients have recovered.
