By BBN Staff: Today, the man accused of the murder of popular Ladyville businessman Orin “Bredda O” Velasquez, appeared in the Belize City Magistrate’s Court.
Twenty-year-old Lincoln Daniel Diaz, appeared in court to receive the last pieces of evidence against him in the deposition and have a date set for his preliminary inquiry (PI).
Once Diaz had received and signed for the evidence, Senior Magistrate Aretha Ford explained to him that the PI, where the prosecution will present all the evidence gathered in the investigation to the court and a determination will be made if he has a case to answer to in the Supreme Court which will be held on February 4, 2022.
Diaz, who has been on remand since November 2020, was then returned to the Belize Central Prison.
Velasquez, the owner of the pizzaria “Bredda O’s Pizza” was fatally shot to the chest during a robbery at his business on the night of Monday, July 27, 2020.
