Woman charged for threatening to burn down her neighbor’s house

By BBN Staff: A 45-year-old woman from Lord’s Bank is out on bail after being charged for threatening to burn down the house of a neighbor that lives down the street.

Martha Odelia Hernandez appeared unrepresented in the Belize City Magistrate’s Court on Monday before Senior MagistrateTricia Pitts-Anderson. Hernandez was answering to a charge of the threat of damage to property.

In court, she pleaded not guilty and said that she did have harsh words with her neighbor, Mercedes Carcamo, but she did not mean to issue a threat.
